- Another of CCRD's films, on the Sullung tribe of Arunachal,
was screened at the International
Conference on Hunting & Gathering Societies at the
University of Edinburgh in
September 2002
- The CCRD was involved in the launch conference, dialogues and
cultural programmes to observe the year-long 50th
year in India anniversary celebrations. It is also collaborating
on the Theatre Workshop being held at Itanagar from 10th -28th
Feb
- As part of the launch event, a Regional conference on Traditional
Institutions, Transformations and Development was held at Gauhati
in March 2002. CCRD provided media support at the Conference.
CCRD's film on film on the changing context of religion in Arunachal
and the resurgence of traditional faiths titled "Prayers
for New Gods" was screened at the conference
- It is also in the process of making a documentary on the system
of dormitories existing in states of Nagaland,
Mizoram & Arunachal as a symbol of traditional institutions
in transition. The film will be screened at the closing event
at Shillong on 7th & 8th March 2003, at Shillong
- NFSC Folk Festival of Oral Narratives:
The CCRD liased with and sent a PONUNG (folk dance) troupe from
Pasighat in East Siang to participate in the National Festival
on Oral Epics held at Chennai by the NFSC.
