A workshop held in May 1999 on "Questions of tribal identity, its preservation, change and adaptation; Media as a means." The workshop sought to explore the definition and meaning of the 'tribal identity' and the need to document changes to it. It was able to bring about an intensive exchange among representatives from various specialized fields in order to formalize a strategy that would best document and disseminate information on this process.
