ASSESSMENT
Achievements
- A public profile for the Centre as well as networking with other
organizations with similar mandates.
- A process of dialogue amongst the youth and school children
on questions of change and adaptation.
- A cross-region understanding amongst the culturally diverse
tribes within the State
Emergence as a platform for public dialogue on issues of culture,
folklore and research.
- CCRD has been able to develop as an institution of repute in
the field of folklore research and media dissemination and also
to generate public dialogue on change. This breaking-in period
has yielded more of intangible gains in terms of profile and presence,
than tangible financial returns.
Lessons learnt
- Local Recruitment: The followed policy of the Centre to recruit
staff only from within the State seemed to have boomeranged on
us. The available talent is less trained and lack experience.
So, when on the one hand employment was generated locally, yet
considerable time was spent in training and building up skills,
which reflected in part of the work output.
- Networking: The Centre has not really been able to build a working
relationship with organizations in the other states in the northeast
region, which was one of the desired goals. This has given rise
to a unique situation where our presence is known within Arunachal
and in the other parts of the country but not much in our immediate
neighboring states.
